This 2-day journey from Nagoya combines one of Hokuriku’s most spectacular summer fireworks events with cultural sightseeing and a relaxing hot spring stay.
Enjoy the Hokkoku Grand Fireworks Festival Kawakita, featuring approximately 20,000 fireworks lighting up the night sky. Highlights include continuous star mines and powerful No.10 shell bursts, with a breathtaking grand finale of 2,000 rapid-fire star mines that illuminate the sky like daylight. The open riverside setting allows for an immersive experience of sound and light.
The festival is held alongside the Kawakita Festival, where a massive 40-meter “O-Kagaribi” bonfire burns brightly against the night sky. Traditional performances such as taiko drumming and ceremonial fire rituals create a powerful and energetic atmosphere.
Stay overnight at Manten no Tsujinoya in Awazu Onsen, one of Hokuriku’s oldest hot spring areas with over 1,300 years of history. Relax in natural hot spring baths sourced from a private spring, and enjoy a beautifully prepared Kaga kaiseki dinner featuring fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan and local mountain ingredients.
On Day 2, explore Kanazawa’s top attractions, including Kenrokuen Garden, famous for its seasonal beauty, and Kanazawa Castle Park with its historic architecture. Visit Omicho Market, known as the “kitchen of Kanazawa,” and enjoy free time for lunch. End your journey with a walk through the charming Higashi Chaya District, lined with traditional wooden townhouses, shops, and cafes.
