The Gion Odori is an annual dance performance presented by the geiko and maiko of the Gion Higashi district—one of Kyoto's five geisha districts—held for 10 days starting November 1st at the Gion Kaikan.
Each performance features an original script comprising a medley of nagauta and kiyomoto dances performed by the geiko and maiko of Gion Higashi. The show concludes with a grand finale featuring the "Gion Higashi Kouta," a song celebrating the four seasons of the Gion Higashi neighborhood, performed by all the geiko and maiko.
As the only dance performance among the five hanamachi held in the autumn, it has become a cherished annual event that colors the beautiful autumn season of Kyoto, attracting many visitors from both Japan and overseas.
The performance is only offered 10 days from 2026/11/1-2026/11/10! Here, one can savor matcha (green tea) and sweets while enjoying a tea ceremony performed by Geiko(Geisha) and Maiko. Enjoy beautifully choreographed dance performance and the atmosphere!

予約前の確認事項
Schedule: 60 minutes performance will be held daily at 13:30 and 16:00 between 2026/11/10－2026/11/10.
- The venue opens approximately one hour before the performance starts. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance to enjoy the tea service.
Eligibility:
- All participants must be 4 years old or older.
- This is ticket only, not a tour.
- Drinking alcohol during the show is not allowed.
- Please do not bring large luggage to the theater.
- Theater do not have parking facilities available. We recommend using public transportation.
