Escape the summer heat with a refreshing Mt. Fuji adventure, explore mystical ice caves, and enjoy unlimited seasonal fruit picking in Yamanashi!
Experience the best of summer in Japan with a refreshing getaway to Mt. Fuji and Yamanashi, known as the “Fruit Kingdom.” This tour combines natural wonders, local flavors, and seasonal delights in one perfect day.
Begin your journey at Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station, sitting at an elevation of 2,305 meters. Even in summer, the temperature remains pleasantly cool, making it an ideal escape from the city heat. Take a relaxing walk, enjoy panoramic views above the clouds, and explore spots like Komitake Shrine and the surrounding trails. Don’t miss the chance to browse unique souvenirs or try freshly baked Mt. Fuji melon bread.
Next, venture into one of Mt. Fuji’s famous ice caves—either Narusawa Ice Cave or Fugaku Wind Cave. With an average annual temperature of just 3°C, these caves offer a magical, otherworldly experience. Marvel at the illuminated ice formations and enjoy the naturally cool air inside this designated national natural monument.
For lunch, savor a traditional Yamanashi specialty: pumpkin houtou hot pot. This comforting dish, made with thick noodles, vegetables, and rich miso broth, is a beloved local favorite and famously featured in Japanese literature.
End your journey with a delightful fruit-picking experience in Yamanashi. Depending on the season, enjoy all-you-can-eat fresh fruits straight from the farm:
