The Experience
Mount Koya is the sacred center of Shingon Buddhism, introduced to Japan in 805 by Kobo Daishi (Kukai), one of the country's most significant religious figures. Nestled on a wooded mountaintop, this secluded temple town surrounds the sect's headquarters and features over a hundred active temples, including Kongobuji (the head temple) and Okunoin, the location of Kobo Daishi's mausoleum.
Staying overnight at a shukubo (temple lodging) provides a rare glimpse into monastic life, complete with traditional shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) and morning prayer sessions.
Guided Service & Schedule Note: An expert guide will accompany you on Day 1 to provide in-depth historical and cultural context. Day 2 is non-guided, allowing you full freedom to explore the remaining sights, temples, and walking paths at your own leisure before returning to Osaka.

- You can customize it as you like. If you have any requests please let us know in advance.
- If you want to change your schedule even on the tour day, your guide is always happy to help you.
- You can skip the spot where you don't go (※in this case we do not refund any fees) or change it with another place.
- If you add some new spots by your request, please pay the ticket fee on the spot. (Note that you may need to pay extra transportation fee)
- Infants (under 5 years old) can join tour but must sit on laps

- Refunds will not be provided if you fail to arrive at the meeting location on time (no show).

- Wearing your seatbelt is mandatory while the bus is in motion due to legal regulations.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited on the vehicle.
- Please refrain from standing up while the vehicle is in motion.
- If you accidentally leave any belongings on the vehicle, please be aware that they will be disposed of.
