The Experience
Japanese Umbrella-Wagasa Traditional Japanese umbrellas made entirely from natural materials like bamboo, Japanese paper (washi), and wood. They are celebrated for their structural beauty, durability, and deep connection to Japanese culture.
Premium Experience Wagasa Making (120 mins) Experience crafting your very own wagasa through the same process used by artisans. You’ll choose your favorite washi paper and try your hand at applying it to the umbrella frame. After the workshop, artisans will complete the drying, lacquering, and finishing process over the course of one to two months. ※Once your umbrella is finished, it will be shipped to your specified address in Japan or overseas. For international shipping, we use EMS, and delivery usually takes about one week. Please note that delivery times may vary depending on the destination country or region, and additional fees may apply. ※Shipping costs are not included in the tour price (to be paid locally).

Itinerary
- 09:30Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel in Kanazawa City. *You may also choose to meet at JR Kanazawa Station. (Please let us know when making your reservation.) Move to a shop in the Higashi Chaya District by public bus or on foot
- Premium Plan Wagasa Making Workshop (120min)
- ①Selecting Your Paper ②Use a handmade paste to carefully attach the washi paper to the wagasa’s frame. ③Choose the decorative elements for your wagasa, including the inner thread decorations and the top paper. Please select them while imagining the colors and overall look of the finished product. ④After the experience, you can enjoy a photoshoot using agasa both inside the shop and in the surrounding area.
- After the workshop, artisans will complete the drying, lacquering, and finishing process over the course of one to two months. Once your umbrella is finished, it will be shipped to your specified address in Japan or overseas.
- 12:15The tour ends at a shop in the Higashi-Chayamachi area.

No special items are required—aprons and protective garments are provided, ensuring that even guests in kimono may enjoy the experience with ease.
Participation is limited to those aged 12 and older.

You will meet your guide at your hotel in Kanazawa. Please be sure to enter your hotel name when making your reservation. ※If you would like to meet at JR Kanazawa Station or directly at Higashi Chaya District, please let us know when you make a reservation. (No refunds will be issued for changes.)
