说明

Step into the Sacred Legacy of Nikko – A World Heritage City of Nature, Culture, and Spirituality

Embark on a full-day walking tour through the historic and spiritual heart of Nikko, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its deeply rooted mountain worship traditions and stunning Edo-period architecture. With a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter, you'll visit cultural landmarks such as the richly decorated Nikko Toshogu Shrine, learning about the legacy of the Tokugawa shoguns and the artistry that shaped one of Japan’s most revered spiritual centers.

As you explore the area on foot (approx. 5 km), enjoy an eco-conscious journey—refill your reusable bottle at the many pure water stations scattered throughout Nikko, known for having some of Japan’s best-tasting water. Experience a balance of heritage and nature in every step.

Venture slightly off the beaten path to the Kanmangafuchi Abyss, a serene gorge lined with about 70 quiet Jizo statues, offering a meditative atmosphere unlike the busier shrine precincts. In winter or when conditions prevent access, alternative sites such as Futarasan Shrine or the Rinno-ji Temple complex will be visited instead.

This tour features a small-group format, allowing for a more personal and immersive experience. With an audio guide included, you’ll be able to listen comfortably to commentary without disturbing others, even in crowded areas.

For lunch, enjoy a flavorful Indian thali meal prepared by an Indian chef—an unexpected but satisfying cultural twist in the heart of Nikko. (Note: This plan includes an Indian thali. For a Japanese or vegetarian meal, please select a different plan when booking.)

Round-trip transportation between Shinjuku and Nikko is provided via limited express train, offering a smooth and efficient ride through scenic landscapes.

As you stroll through the city, take in Nikko’s unique charm—a blend of traditional architecture and modern preservation. Thanks to the city’s strict landscape and signage regulations, the town retains a harmonious balance of old-world beauty and natural surroundings.

Whether it's your first visit to Nikko or a return trip, this tour offers a rich blend of culture, history, and local discovery—all in one rewarding day.
