The JR TOKYO Wide Pass is a special rail pass exclusively for foreign visitors to Japan. It offers unlimited rides for 3 consecutive days on JR East lines, including local trains, Shinkansen (specific sections), Limited Express trains, and some private railway lines within the Kanto area, centered around Tokyo. It's also valid for access to and from Narita Airport (Narita Express - N'EX) and Haneda Airport (Tokyo Monorail), making it ideal for day trips from Tokyo.
Limited express trains that can be used with the JR TOKYO Wide Pass are only those that run from JR lines to Tobu Railway. Limited express trains that run at Tobu Railway stations at both the starting and ending stations cannot be used. (If you are using a limited express train from Tochigi Station, Shin-Kanuma Station, Shimo-imaichi Station, Tobu-Nikko Station, Tobu World Square Station, or Kinugawa Onsen Station, either the starting station or the terminal station must be a JR line station.) Please note: The Tokaido Shinkansen is NOT covered by the JR TOKYO Wide Pass.

1. Eligibility Only foreign passport holders are eligible for purchase and use. Adults: 16,500 yen Children: 8,250 yen Adults (12 years and over), Children (6 to 11 years old) Adult/child classification is based on the date of purchase. Age will be verified with a passport. *If a child under 5 needs a reserved seat ticket for the Shinkansen or other trains, please purchase a child pass.
2. Validity Period The pass is valid for 3 consecutive days. The start date cannot be changed once the pass has been exchanged, so please plan your itinerary carefully.
3. Other Notes
1. At the Time of Exchange When exchanging your pass, you must present your E-ticket and original passport. If the name on your reservation does not match the name on your passport, you will not be able to exchange your pass at the designated location. You must specify your desired start date for the pass at the time of exchange. This date must be within one month from the exchange date. Once exchanged, the start date of the JR TOKYO Wide Pass cannot be changed.
2. After Exchange When passing through ticket gates, please use the automatic ticket gates. Insert your pass into the gate. If your JR TOKYO Wide Pass is lost, it cannot be reissued, even if you have purchase records like E-tickets or receipts. Please keep your pass safe. If you use services outside the valid range or facilities not covered by the pass (e.g., Green Cars, sleeper cars), additional charges will be incurred.
3. Reserving Shinkansen & Limited Express Reserved Seats We strongly recommend reserving your Shinkansen and Limited Express reserved seats in advance via Train Reservation (JR-EAST Train Reservation for foreign visitors). Reserving seats at station ticket offices (Midori-no-madoguchi) may take time, especially during peak hours. Even if you reserve your seats via Train Reservation, you must pick up your reserved seat tickets at a station ticket office. To ensure a smooth journey, we recommend reserving your seats via Train Reservation in advance and picking up your reserved seat tickets at the same time you exchange your pass. Please note that reserved seat tickets will be automatically cancelled if they are not picked up by 9:00 PM (21:00) on the day before your departure date.
