Osaka Castle Osaka Castle, one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Osaka, is also a popular cherry blossom viewing spot, attracting many tourists every year. About 3,000 cherry blossoms trees are in full bloom on the grounds of the park. The sight of the cherry blossoms with the huge castle tower are spectacular.
In addition, visitors who sign up for the plan that includes admission to the Osaka Castle Tower will be taken to the Osaka Castle Tower Museum with a guide. In the Osaka Castle Tower, there are exhibits related to Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the founder of Osaka Castle. Iwashimizu Hachimangu Iwashimizu Hachimangu, one of the three major Hachimangu shrines in Japan, was built in 1634. It is a power spot for praying for good luck, good fortune, and victory. The shrine pavilions, registered as national treasures, attract many tourists as representative structures of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine, with their vivid vermilion color. The area around Otokoyama, where Hachimangu Shrine is located, has been famous for its cherry blossoms since the Heian period (794-1185), and the old weeping cherry trees in the shrine garden are especially breathtaking.
Yodo River Park Sewaritei District This is a popular cherry blossom spot with a 1.4 km-long cherry blossom tunnel in the river park between the Kizu River and the Uji River. The cherry blossom tunnel can be viewed from the observation deck at the Sakura Deai-kan (Cherry Blossom Viewing Pavilion) located at the end of the tunnel.
