The Experience
Kobo Jokan A modern lifestyle shop, cafe, and open workshop dedicated to Yamanaka Shikki (lacquerware), located in Yamanaka Onsen, Ishikawa Prefecture. Run by Morita Shikki, a traditional lacquerware manufacturer founded in 1909, this facility allows visitors to experience Japanese craft through all five senses.
Live Artisan Workshop The shop features a glass-walled studio.You can watch master artisans demonstrate Kiji-hiki (woodturning on a lathe).This precise woodturning technique is the defining characteristic of Yamanaka Shikki.

Important Note on Shipping: It takes about 2 weeks for the lacquer to dry. Your chopsticks will be shipped internationally at a later date. (Shipping fees must be paid on-site.)
