The Experience
<The Hida Satoyama Cycling Classic Tour is the standard tour>
After leaving the graceful old streets of Hida Furukawa and passing through quiet farming villages, a beautiful satoyama landscape gradually comes into view.
Along the route, you'll see a local vegetable market, huge traditional farmhouses scattered throughout the area, and vast rice fields surrounded by mountains.
This 22km tour takes about 3.5 hours, and your guide will share explanations as you go. There are no major tourist spots on this route. Instead, you'll get a real sense of the local people's lives and the satoyama lifestyle where nature and people coexist.
Experience the beauty of the satoyama as the seasons change: 🌸Spring: Rice paddies are filled with water, reflecting the surrounding mountains. 🌞Summer: The mountains, rice paddies, and fields are a dazzling green, and the rivers reflect the blue sky. 🍂Autumn: Golden rice stalks sway in the breeze.

How to Use
- Voucher will be sent via email. Please print and show your voucher at the designated location.
Purchase Notice
・This tour is guided in English. ・This tour requires you to be able to ride a bicycle. If you haven't ridden a bicycle in a long time, please make sure you are comfortable riding one before participating. Children must have at least one year of experience riding a bicycle without training wheels. ・Participants must be at least 135 cm tall. If your group includes a child under 135 cm, we ask that you join a Private Half Tour, which can be adjusted to the child's pace. ・A water dispenser is available at the reception desk (inside SATOYAMA STAY NINO-MACHI). You are welcome to use it before and after your tour. To help reduce plastic waste, we encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle. Thank you for your cooperation. ・Note that we have no children’s rates for private tours
- Tour participants must be able to ride a mountain bike. We recommend that guests without recent experience of riding a mountain bike familiarize themselves through training rides before their trip.
- Children under 12 years old should have sufficient recent experience of riding a bike without training wheels. If we believe that a tour participant is a risk to themselves and others through inability to safely ride and control a bike,we may decide that participation in the tour is not appropriate.
- Tour participants must wear clothing suitable both for cycling and the weather
- Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled tour start time. All tours depart on time and we cannot wait for latecomers.
- In Japan, it is not recommended for pregnant women to ride a bike.
- Parents utilizing a child seat should be experienced cyclists and Ideally have prior experience of riding with a child seat.
- For safety reasons, we have a weight limit of 120kg (100kg for some E-bikes) per participant.
About Summer Cycling Tours In recent years, the probability of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening has been quite high during July and August. If a thunderstorm advisory is issued, or if lightning is seen or thunder is heard, we will switch to a walking tour to ensure the safety of our guests. Thank you for your understanding.
