• During the Maple Tunnel illumination, approximately 250 meters of the Eizan Railway Kurama Line between Ichihara and Ninose Stations is beautifully lit up.
• The area is known as the “Maple Tunnel” because maple trees line both sides of the railway, creating a tunnel-like canopy. It is also famous as a scenic spot for autumn foliage.
• As the train passes through the Maple Tunnel, it travels at a slower speed than usual, allowing you to take in the illuminated autumn leaves. The lights inside the train are also turned off, creating a magical atmosphere and offering an uninterrupted view of the beautifully illuminated maple trees.

• Lanterns are placed around Kifune Shrine’s Main Shrine, Yui no Yashiro, and Okunomiya, as well as along the road from Kifuneguchi to the traditional ryokan area. The banks of the Kibune River are also beautifully illuminated.

With a history of around 2,100 years, it is believed to offer blessings for protection from misfortune, good relationships, and family safety.
• The shrine grounds are home to approximately 3,000 maple trees. In autumn, the approach and entire grounds are beautifully transformed with vibrant red and golden foliage.
