Kokura Castle Kokura Castle is a reconstructed 17th-century fortress in central Kitakyushu, originally built by the Hosokawa clan as a stronghold during Japan's feudal era. Surrounding gardens feature traditional landscaping with ponds, stone lanterns, and seasonal foliage.
Kokura Castle Garden The castle's provides a tranquil setting for cultural activities, designed in Edo-period style with manicured pines, maples, and a tea house pavilion. Guests learn matcha preparation here, whisking vibrant green powder while seated on tatami mats, paired with seasonal wagashi sweets.
Mojiko Retro Mojiko Retro is a preserved waterfront neighborhood from the Meiji-Taisho eras (late 1800s-1920s), once Japan's busiest international port facing Korea and China. Key landmarks include the red-brick Former Osaka Shosen Kaisha Dormitory (now a museum), Kyushu Railway Memorial Hall, and seaside promenades with Kanmon Bridge views.
