  • Shinjuku Guided Walk: Explore Golden Gai and Hanazono Shrine.
  • Hands-on Cultural Activity: Enjoy your choice of one activity at MAIKOYA Shinjuku (Ages 7+ only, group session):

Option A: Samurai & Ninja Museum Tour (60 min) Step into the world of legendary warriors! Enjoy a guided museum tour, try your hand at shuriken (ninja star) throwing, and snap unforgettable photos dressed in authentic armor and helmet cosplay.

Option B: Samurai Sword Lesson (60 min) Dive into an interactive 60-minute swordplay lesson! Put on traditional hakama wear, learn authentic katana movements and dramatic poses from a skilled instructor, and record your performance on video.

Option C: Japanese Tea Ceremony without Kimono (45 min) Enjoy a casual yet authentic tea ceremony in your everyday clothes. Learn traditional tea etiquette, whisk your own bowl of high-grade matcha, and experience the calming art of Japanese hospitality.

  • Single-Act Performance: Watch a Kabuki highlight performance from 2nd Grade Seat with an English audio guide.

  • No Tour Guide: Independent experience with no walking tour or briefing. Pick up your physical ticket and English audio guide receiver directly at the venue (New National Theatre).

  • Meeting & Pickup Plan 1 & Plan 2: Meet your guide at JR Shinjuku Station East Exit (Near the 3D Cat Screen). Plan 3: Go directly to the New National Theatre (No walking tour). Pick up your physical ticket and English audio guide receiver at the designated counter.
  • Shinjuku History Walk & Activities (Plan 1 & Plan 2 Only) Enjoy a guided walking tour through historic Golden Gai and Hanazono Shrine, followed by your selected hands-on cultural activity (Plan 2 only). *Plan 3 guests skip this step and enter the theatre directly.
  • Pre-Show Briefing & Ticket Delivery (Plan 1 & Plan 2 Only) Receive a briefing on Kabuki plotlines and key theatrical poses, then get your physical ticket and audio guide directly from your guide before entering the theatre.
  • Kabuki Performance Plan 1 & Plan 3: Watch the complete performance from start to finish. Plan 2 : Watch a single-act highlight performance. (Note: Single-Act entry is strictly during intermission only).
  • Return Audio Guide & Conclusion Return your English audio guide receiver to the designated desk before leaving the theatre.

Age Requirement: This tour is suitable for ages 7 and above. Children under 7 are not permitted to participate due to cultural activity venue restrictions and the duration of the Kabuki performance.

Minimum Operating Group Size: Plan 1 & Plan 2 (Guided Tours): Requires a minimum of 2 participants to operate. If the minimum number is not met, the tour may be canceled with a full refund or rescheduled. Plan 3 (Ticket & Audio Guide Only): Available for 1 participant or more (No minimum requirement).

Tour & Activity Format: Plan 1 & Plan 2 (Guided Tours): All walking tours, briefings, and cultural activities (Option A, B, or C) are conducted as group sessions shared with other participants (not a private tour). Plan 3 (Ticket Only): This is a self-guided option. Seats and theatre facilities are shared with the general audience.

Meals & Theatre Dining Guidelines: No Meals Included: Lunch is not included in the tour price. Dedicated time will be provided before entering the theatre to grab a quick bite, or buy snacks/drinks (please follow your guide's instructions). No Eating in Seats: Eating inside the auditorium (seating area) is strictly prohibited.

Theatre Cafe & Foyer Dining: The theatre cafe opens 45 minutes before showtime and during intermissions, offering drinks and light meals. Important: CASH ONLY is accepted at the cafe and buffet areas. Please bring sufficient Japanese Yen cash with you.

You are also welcome to bring your own small snacks/drinks to consume in the designated foyer area. *Cafe operating hours may be subject to change or temporary suspension depending on the performance schedule.

Important Notice Regarding Tour Details & Emergency Contact: Final tour instructions and emergency contact details for the day will be sent to your registered email address approximately 3 days prior to your tour date. Please be sure to check your inbox.

Physical Ticket Exchange Required: Please note that you cannot enter the theatre using an electronic voucher or booking confirmation screen. Guests joining a guided tour will receive their physical paper entrance ticket and English audio guide directly from their tour guide on the day of the show. If you have booked the Ticket-Only plan, you must visit the designated ticket pickup counter yourself on the day of the performance to exchange your voucher for your physical ticket and audio guide receiver before entering.
