This exclusive cultural program takes place at Shogaku-an, a private sub-temple of Tofuku-ji which is normally closed to the general public.
Participants will have the rare opportunity to enter this sacred sanctuary for a 15-minute Zazen (sitting meditation) session guided directly by the resident abbot. Following the meditation, the abbot will share insights into Zen philosophy and the core of Japanese spirituality. The experience concludes with a guided tour of the Tofuku-ji temple grounds, where you will discover how Zen thought is intricately woven into the temple's architecture and garden design.
This program offers a "three-dimensional" understanding of Zen through direct interaction with the abbot in a space restricted to practitioners, providing a depth of insight that standard sightseeing cannot offer.
