Day 1: Tokyo to Niigata

Your adventure begins with a comfortable and fast Shinkansen ride from Ueno Station in Tokyo to Echigo Yuzawa Station in Niigata. The Shinkansen, Japan's famous bullet train, is the perfect way to get from A to B in a flash! It'll save you hours that you'd otherwise spend on the bus.

Late Morning: Free Time at Echigo Yuzawa Station

Upon arrival at Echigo Yuzawa Station, you will have 90 minutes of free time to explore the station and its surroundings. Echigo Yuzawa is renowned for its shopping opportunities and local sake tasting. Take this time to browse through the various shops, sample some of the finest sake, and perhaps purchase a bottle or two to take home. You can also enjoy lunch at your leisure (cost not included), choosing from a variety of local eateries that offer delicious regional cuisine.

Afternoon: Visit to the Kiyotsu Valley Tunnel

Evening: Kashiwazaki Fireworks Festival

The highlight of the day is the Kashiwazaki Fireworks Festival, one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in Japan.
