Shikaumi Shrine Located on Shikanoshima Island in the Higashi Ward of Fukuoka City, Shikaumi Shrine is revered as the "Grand Head Shrine of the Sea Gods" and the "Dragon Capital." It has long been deeply worshipped as the primary guardian shrine for Hakata Bay—a vital hub for maritime traffic facing the Genkai Sea. The view of the sea from the shrine, situated on an elevated site, is truly spectacular.
Kin-in Park This park commemorates the discovery of a "golden seal" in the vicinity—an artifact believed to have been presented to the king of the state of Na by Emperor Guangwu of China’s Eastern Han Dynasty in 57 AD. Offering views of Noko Island and the Genkai Sea, the park allows visitors to connect with history while surrounded by nature.
Kyukamura Shikanoshima Shikanoshima Island is located at the tip of the Uminonakamichi sandbar, overlooking Hakata Bay. It is a small, verdant island bordered on all sides by white sandy coastlines. The Kyukamura resort, situated right in front of a beach, features a hot spring called "Kin-in no Yu" (Gold Seal Hot Spring). From its open-air bath, you can enjoy views of the Genkai Sea.
Visitor Center Through exhibits that allow you to touch and handle objects, you can learn about the lesser-known structures, mechanisms, and behaviors of plants and animals. It is a state-of-the-art facility where visitors of all ages—from children to adults—can enjoy learning.
