The Experience

- Gujo Hachiman A small riverside town in Gifu, famous for its a lot of pristine waterways and canals, and summer dance festival. Residents make efforts to keep water clean and fresh, so that they still use it for washing rice and vegetables. One of its attraction is the old town, and you can enjoy the traditional atmosphere. It is a well-preserved castle town and registered as one of the Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings.

- Shirakawa-go The most popular sightseeing spot in Gifu Prefecture! The number of iconic Gassho-zukuri houses preserved in their original form since around 1800 and natural scenery are registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visited by a lot of people around the world. The village is surrounded by great nature and mountainous scenery.

- The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Have an impressive experience that you can only do here! The Alpine Route is carved through the snow and the snow wall stands tall. The snow canyon is also called “Yuki no Otani”, and is one of the famous mountain tourism routes through the Northern Japanese Alps to enjoy Snow Wall Walk.

  • Higashi Chaya District The largest and most interesting one of the three districts in Kanazawa, remaining geisha’s history and chaya houses of Edo era. The wooden traditional buildings are attractive, so take photogenic memories and discover Japanese culture.

- Megane Museum "Megane", which means glasses in Japanese, is a major industry in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture. Sabae is a worldwide production area of glasses and produces more than 90% of them in Japan. At Megane Museum, you can visit its shop and exhibition. You can learn about the manufacturing history of over 100 years and see the various kinds of glasses and their transitions between eras there. It will be an impressive experience to find the story and traditional technique of them!

  1. Clothing: During the period when you can see the Snow Valley, you will need to dress for midwinter, with a maximum temperature of around 10°C. Also, depending on the weather, it may snow, so gloves, a warmer, a scarf, and a hat with ear protection may be useful.   2. About shoes: The area around Murodou-daira is covered with snow during the period of the tour. Waterproof trekking shoes or boots are required.
