Discover Oita’s spiritual Usa Shrine, enjoy Shine Muscat grape picking, and savor a local lunch paired with award-winning Ajimu wine.
At Ousama no Budou Ryokoumura Farm, grapes are cultivated using primarily organic fertilizers and natural pollination methods. This allows you to enjoy the grapes’ naturally rich and flavorful taste.
During the tour, enjoy picking one bunch of Shine Muscat grapes and one bunch of regular grapes, along with a refreshing treat of “Frozen Grapes.”
Please Note:
Conger Eel (Hamo) is a highly nutritious fish known for its light and refined flavor. In summer, hamo has less fat and firmer meat, giving it a refreshing taste.
Oita Ajiichi Green Onions are a signature branded vegetable from Oita Prefecture. Even when cooked, they retain their crisp texture and develop a naturally sweeter flavor. Enjoy them as Negi Shabu-Shabu, where the green onions are lightly cooked in a hot pot.
Menu:
Please note that the menu may be partially changed depending on ingredient availability on the day of the tour.
Of the approximately 110,000 shrines across Japan, more than 40,000 are dedicated to Hachiman. Usa Shrine is the head shrine of all Hachiman shrines and has a history of approximately 1,300 years.
The First Main Sanctuary was built in 725 to enshrine Hachiman Okami, the divine spirit of Emperor Ojin. The Second Sanctuary enshrines Hime Okami, while the Third Sanctuary enshrines Empress Jingu.
Usa Shrine is also one of only 16 Imperial Chokusaisha shrines in Japan, which receive special visits from imperial envoys known as Chokushi.
The shrine is believed to offer a variety of blessings, including protection from misfortune, good fortune, family safety, road safety, and success. The large camphor tree in front of the main sanctuary, Meoto Ishi (Married Couple Stones), and Negai-kake Jizo are also popular spiritual power spots.
Ajimu Winery produces high-quality grapes and rich, aromatic wines by taking advantage of the region’s distinctive climate, which features significant temperature differences between day and night.
At the Japan Winery Awards 2025, Ajimu Winery received the highest honor, 5 Stars. This marks the winery’s seventh consecutive year receiving the award since 2019, and in 2025, it was the only winery in Western Japan to receive this recognition.
Surrounded by lush greenery, the winery features wine production facilities, cellars, vineyards, and a shop. Visitors can stroll around the grounds, observe the winemaking process, and enjoy wine tasting. ===================================================== Information about the tour Place of departure and destination: From Hakata to Oita Number of days of travel: 1 day Means of transportation: Bus Name of bus company: Yamato Kanko Meal(s): Lunch 1 Minimum number of passengers to operate. 15 Number of GUIDE:1
