- Visiting the Hiryu Bell (Okuno-in, Renge-in Tanjo-ji Temple) Every day at 12:00 p.m., visitors join together to strike the great temple bell with a large mallet, offering their prayers as part of the ritual.
- “Tamana Ramen,” a rich and addictive local favorite. A combination of rich, full-bodied tonkotsu broth and smooth, medium-thin noodles. And when it’s brought to the table, the aromatic “toasted garlic chips”.
- After lunch, head to Kikusui-do, a confectionery shop located along the Takase Urakawa River. The shop sells Japanese and Western-style sweets as well as popsicles.
