■ Sawara Town Sightseeing Designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, Sawara is affectionately known as the "Little Edo of the Hokusou Region." It prospered as a major commercial hub via the Tone River's water transport network during the Edo period. Today, its picturesque streets still feature beautiful willow trees, historic wooden structures, and traditional warehouse-style merchant homes.
■ Katori Jingu Shrine Before the Meiji era, only three shrines in all of Japan were granted the prestigious, high-ranking title of "Jingu" (Ise, Katori, and Kashima). Revered as a deity of national protection and martial victory, Katori Jingu has received profound veneration from the Japanese Imperial Family. This highly prestigious shrine boasts a serene, deeply spiritual atmosphere surrounded by lush nature, captivating all who visit.
