The Experience
The Shirakawago and neighboring Gokayama regions line the Shogawa River Valley. It is declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995 and famous for their traditional gassho zukuri farmhouses, some of them are more than 250 years old.
Gassho zukuri means constructed like hands in prayer, as the farmhouses' steep thatched roofs resemble the hands of Buddhist monks pressed together in prayer.
Takayama is a city in the mountainous Hida region. It retains a traditional touch especially in its beautifully preserved old town.
The Takayama Festival is held in spring and autumn which is considered one of Japan's best festivals.

- Wearing your seatbelt is mandatory while the bus is in motion due to legal regulations.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited on the vehicle.
- Please refrain from standing up while the vehicle is in motion.
- If you accidentally leave any belongings on the vehicle, please be aware that they will be disposed of.
- Please personally take responsibility for your valuables.
