The Experience
Your journey begins with a brief introduction to the history and philosophy of the Japanese tea ceremony. You will watch a professional demonstration by a tea master, observing the meditative and precise movements used to prepare the perfect bowl of matcha. Following the demonstration, you will be served high-grade tea accompanied by a delicate seasonal sweet.
Next, it is your turn to become the practitioner. Under the guidance of your instructor, you will use a traditional bamboo whisk (chasen) to prepare your own bowl of matcha.
