Izumo Oyashiro Shrine The Izumo Oyashiro Shrine is one of the most famous Shrines in Japan, and was built in the ancient times. It is said that the original structure was almost 96 meters high, and taller than the Great Buddha Hall at Todaiji Temple in Nara. The current main architecture was completed renovation in 1744.
Yushien Garden Yushien is a Japanese-style garden located on an island. Visitors can enjoy the flowers, trees, ponds, and waterfall in this park. Various seasonal colorful flowers, especially peony, bloom here throughout the year.
Adachi Museum of Art Visitors can enjoy the different views at different seasons. This Japanese garden has been selected as the best Japanese garden in Japan for 22 years long by Sukiya Living Magazin published in almost 40 countries. This museum has a large collection of Japanese-style paintings, especially works by Taikan Yokoyama, one of the best modern painters.
Matsue Castle Matsue Castle is a Japanese National Treasure, and remains the original wooden structure built in 1607. Samurai residences can be found around the castle. From the castle's summit, visitors can enjoy view of the city and the surrounding natural landscape.
Mizuki Shigeru Road Shigeru Mizuki is a modern Japanese cartoonist from Sakaiminato. His the most famous work is GeGeGe no Kitaro, which features yokai, Japanese folklore creatures. There are statues of the yokai along this road.
